Rembrandt in Porto Cervo

Do you Remembrandt me?

This is the catchy title of the expo on Rembrandt hosted in Porto Cervo and promoted by the Comune di Arzachena. A very interesting exhibition, with 24 unique engravings from the Maestro and some innovative paintings of contemporary artists who have been inspired by those masterpieces. The traveling exhibit was held in other main cities in Italy, before landing to Sardinia.

The opening event took place on Saturday, May 12th, at the Promenade du Port, and was extremely successful: a lot of interested visitors came to see the engravings, have a stroll downtown Porto Cervo and sip an aperitivo alfresco. The show will be open to visitors – free of charge – till June 12th. Open from 17 to 22.I was extremely honored to be invited at the press event prior to the official opening, where I had the chance to be given an exhaustive explanation of the engraving technique used in the  17th century.

This should be one of many other classy exhibitions to follow, all organized by Arzachena Porto Cervo municipality to gather people together and offer a high level of cultural events. There is far more than just water in Sardinia, and this is an attempt to show it to the tourists of the island.

If you are in Porto Cervo this early season, save some time and stop by, it’s definitely worthy.
